Spanning across 207 acres of City-owned property, WestLake Grill is run by Owner Joel Martens and his wife who took it over 10 years ago. Over the years they’ve built up the restaurant to become a viable business and it’s a big part of what they do. One of their proudest accolades is their reigning title of best romantic dining spot. In their carriage date night package it includes a one-hour carriage ride a five-course dinner, a bottle of wine, roses and a box of chocolates – how can you go wrong?
WestLake Grill uses local, sustainable, organic and as many non-GMO ingredients as possible.
“We use a lot of Alberta products, and local meats. People are looking for local and being on a ranch, we want to support the local guys,” says Martens. To name a few, WestLake works with Celestine Saskatoon Farm, Bowden Farm Fresh Chicken, Nixon Honey and more.
As for craft beers, WestLake has a close relationship with Dark Woods brewing out of Innisfail, AB as Martens praises the quality and flavor profile.
Their talented Chef has worked his way up the ranks and curates their five-course dinners, and chef table experience – which features local growers.
