Chef Howl Jenkins
Chef @ The Gathering Place
Waskatenau, AB

Chef Howl started in the kitchen when he was only four. Watching his dad take random leftovers from the fridge and turn them into something incredibly tasty.

Since then Howl has pursued culinary arts in a professional sense starting at 13. Beginning with the commercial kitchen at his school, God has led him through to places such as Earl’s in Vancouver, BC, Chop Steakhouse, The Westin Edmonton, and even the Crowne Plaza Hotel and their prestigious revolving restaurant, LaRonde. After completing his culinary apprenticeship in 2013, Howl began turning his sights on incorporating more of a Farm to Fork idea. Focusing on close relations with local producers and growers, as well as local foraging.

Continuing that pursuit Howl has now accepted the position of Head Chef at The Gathering Place Co-op. A place where he can truly showcase the local farmers and families of the region. His long-term goals are to be the best father and role model to his two growing children, and to share his God-given passion for hearty, healthy good food from the Farm to Fork with as many people as possible.

He is eternally grateful to God for the opportunity to work with the community of Waskatenau, AB.
