Victor Hugo Raya is a Mexican chef raised between Mexico City and Oaxaca, two culturally and historically important regions of Mexico, which influenced his love for cooking at a very early age. He learned to cook traditional Mexican cuisine by watching his grandmother in the kitchen preparing recipes passed down from his ancestors, and that used flavourful local ingredients found at local markets. He was also influenced by his connection to Oaxaca, where his great aunts taught him traditional techniques and recipes typical of that region.

Victor is passionate about the quality and variety of ingredients found at local markets and the ingenuity and creativity of Mexican street food. Now based in Edmonton, Alberta, Victor brings his passion for Mexican cuisine and Mexican flavours with him to Alberta, using Alberta ingredients to bring his street food recipes to life at Super Amigos Mexican Street Food and Catering.
